About Us

Deep Coastal Bend Roots

Frank Bailey Jr. was instrumental in founding Corpus Christi Grain Company in 1961 to meet the increasing storage demand for grain sorghum in the Coastal Bend of Texas. Frank’s father, Frank Sr. had been influential in introducing grain sorghum to South Texas 26 years earlier. The original C.C. Grain was built on Upriver Road and continued to operate from that location for 31 years. In 1991, after purchasing Wuensche Grain, C.C. Grain relocated its operations to 100 Talbert Road due east of the Corpus Christi International Airport. Since the move, 900,000 bushels of storage have been added to the facility. In October of 2012, Jake West took over operations from Larell Meischen, who had been manager for 37 years. Corpus Christi Grain was founded on serving the Coastal Bend farmer, and 52 years later this is still our core mission.
